LoFive is a musical group comprised of five enthusiastic high school musicians.

Specialize in Jazz, Latin, Funk, and Fusion.

David Balut- Trumpet

I experienced the joy of music for the first time in 6th grade. From then on music has been an integral part of my life. In 2018 I was placed as the 3rd best trumpet in the state of Illinois for middle schoolers. I now attend JHHS and enjoy my music on daily basis.

Andrey Pikovskiy- Piano

I have been playing the piano since I was four and a half and have been in love with it ever since. I have spent the last four years taking music theory and performance exams at North Western University through their Achievement In Music initiative. This experience has really boosted my abilities as both a classical and jazz musician. My love for jazz music started in 7th grade.  Our Jazz Combo has been the tool I needed to channel my creativity in a positive way.

Tyler Graf- Drummer

I have been playing drums for a while now. I have been inspired by many famous drummers such as Buddy Rich and art Bakley. I am the drummer for JHHS’s jazz 2 and combo 2. I also made it to the ILMEA high school honors jazz ensemble 3.

Zhivko Zhekov- Saxophone

My passion for saxophone from the moment I enrolled in band in 6th grade. Ever since my main priority was to evolve as a saxophonist and be the best musician I can. I have won many awards at school for musical achievement. I enjoy playing with my parents at different venues.

Luke Jackson- Bass Guitar

I have been playing bass for over 4 years now. It is super fun to play especially when you know you tie the band together. I was inspired by musicians such as Eddie Van Halen and Dave Grohl.
